TRAIN RIVER

This piece of moving image came from a clip I had shot out the window of a train along side a canal in Netherlands. I felt that the other clips that I had been making were incredibly destructive and therefore wanted to try and create something a little more subtle just I had done with the still images. I thought that original clip would have been much easier to work with. Before splitting it up into frames i separated sections of the moving image up and added chunks of empty space between them using. With a layer of green screen in the back it was the easy for photoshop to this this void with sections of the original imagery. What is created is this revolving panoramic world. Our eye is left constantly trying to catch up with what were are seeing but as we stare we suddenly feel as if there is no movement at all. Instead this is replaced with these constant updating patterns of perplexing shapes.
